Since its founding in 1874, the 92nd Street Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association (more commonly known as the 92nd Street Y, or simply 92Y) has sought to enrich the lives of everyone who enters its doors. In accordance with this mission, 92Y unites culture and community in one multifaceted institution. Its reputation as a presenter of literary and classical musical events, featuring both emerging and established artists, is world-renowned. 

Ongoing support from the Sidney E. Frank Foundation allows 92Y to maintain the highest standards of stewardship—from preservation of the Unterberg Poetry Center’s recordings to the commissioning of new, cross-disciplinary programming. This support provides the institution the same resources it strives to give its artists: time, space and the animating encouragement, both material and otherwise, to follow inspiring ideas wherever they may lead.
